Tessa joined Hope House Northern Colorado in August 2024 as the Program Coordinator, bringing her wealth of knowledge and experience in child development and communication. Originally from St. Charles, Minnesota, she moved to Duluth to pursue her education at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, where she studied Communication Sciences and Disorders and minored in American Sign Language. Tessa furthered her academic journey by completing her Master of Public Health with an emphasis on maternal and child health at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.
In addition to her role at Hope House, Tessa serves as a full-time Communication Manager for the Early Childhood Council of Larimer County, where she utilizes her expertise to enhance the communication strategies that support early childhood initiatives. She is also an active board member for Stepping Stones of Windsor, demonstrating her commitment to improving housing insecurity in Northern Colorado.
Before joining these organizations, Tessa worked as a youth specialist with the YMCA and as a personal care assistant working with children and adolescents with developmental disabilities in home and day camp settings. With over 10 years of experience as a nanny and childcare provider for children ages 0-10, her passion for working with children and families is evident in all she does.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Tessa enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, and spending quality time with friends and family. As she continues exploring Colorado, she is eager to venture out, hike, and discover the area’s beautiful surroundings.
