Shalene Bird is the newest member of our Hope House Northern Colorado team, joining us in April of 2023. Shalene is a native of Fort Collins, Colorado and spent the last 19 years working in education in the Northern Colorado area. Shalene also has spent many years working as the nursery coordinator at her church, working in graphic design and as an events and social media coordinator.
Shalene has a heart for children of all ages. Her passion for teen moms stems from having her first son at the age of 17 and experiencing the needs, struggles, and triumphs of teen parenting firsthand. She is a mother to three grown boys and loves spending time with her grandson.
Shalene is excited to bring a new perspective to this wonderful organization as these young mothers’ work towards their individual goals. She has spent many years dreaming of mentoring young moms who are going through what she did as a teen and Hope House Northern Colorado is helping her reach this dream. As the Program Coordinator she hopes to encourage and support these women throughout their parenting journey.
Shalene enjoys spending time with her husband, friends, and family. On warm days you will most likely find her working in the yard, kayaking or riding her bicycle. Colder days give her the opportunity to sew, work on crafts or work on graphic and web design.
