Congratulations to the winter SuperShero, Maria!

Maria was 14 when she found out she was pregnant. While so many teen moms struggle with isolation and rejection from their loved ones, thankfully Maria’s family embraced both her and the new life growing inside her. With the support of her family, Maria gave birth to a healthy baby girl, Leeandra, and was able to graduate high school a year early and continue working throughout school. She is currently excelling in both cosmetology school and a part-time job, a testament to her strong work ethic.

Hope House Northern Colorado is honored to be one of the support systems providing Maria with encouragement and practical support. This includes help with finding scholarships to finish her education debt-free and classes that will help her be the best mom to Leeandra.

Way to go, Maria! You are doing so much to build a wonderful life for yourself and your daughter, and we’re so proud of you.

The SuperShero award is given quarterly to a teen mom who is working hard towards self-sufficiency and displays a positive attitude, leadership skills, and drive for success.
